I bet you never thought of creating cards using your scraps!

We all have them…a bin full of scraps. Those little pieces come in handy now and again, but the bin continues to grow no matter how often we find the perfect piece. You may have them all together, sorted by color/type or even by size. I have mine sorted by squared off, messy cuts & DSP.

4 different cards made following the clues of the Mystery Card Class - Scrap & Die Card

During one of my Mystery Card classes on my YouTube channel, we did a card with all the strips of cardstock you save for “someday”!

Easy Cards Using Your Scraps
Cards made using various shaped dies & scraps

I took cardstock scraps and sorted them so that the color hues meshed well with each other. Then I took each sorted pile and ran them through my Stampin’ Cut and Emboss machine using the Stylish Shapes dies & the Beautiful Shapes dies. I used the same shape but different colors for each card. I chose one of the lighter color shapes to stamp a sentiment on, then adhered them to the card front. Some of the shapes were adhered using just Stampin’ Seal, some were adhered using dimensionals. Add some embellishments & VOILA! Easy cards made with what you had on hand.

8 cards made with scraps you have in your stash
Cards made using scraps of Holiday DSP

This past Christmas, I had a bunch of Christmas DSP (designer series paper) scraps. I pulled them all out and sorted some of it into 8 piles that would coordinate with each other. I even found some die cuts and banners left over from last year’s cards & past Paper Pumpkin kits. I mapped out each card, adhered everything with Stampin’ Seal or dimensionals, added some embellishments, and PRESTO! 8 cards made with my scrap DSP.
