APPT – Bikes & Blooms

There’s something so cheerful about flowers and bicycles—they’re a perfect reminder that the sweetest adventures are often the simple ones.

For this month’s A Paper Pumpkin Thing (APPT) Blog Hop, I was inspired by the June 2026 Bikes & Blooms Paper Pumpkin Kit. This beautiful kit creates 9 cards (3 each of 3 delightful designs), but I wanted to stretch my kit a little further by creating a coordinating card and gift card bag that would make a wonderful handmade gift.

To add extra dimension and texture, I reached for the coordinating add-on dies and die cut:

  • 8 sets of flowers from Calypso Coral Cardstock
  • One set of butterflies from Daffodil Delight Cardstock

Using the Boutique Blossoms Dies, I die cut four spring sprigs from Old Olive Cardstock. Then, with the 1/8″ Punch from the Hole Punch Assortment, I punched 24 tiny flower centers from Daffodil Delight Cardstock.

Each flower was assembled by adhering the punched center to the back of the small and medium flowers before layering them onto the large blooms. I trimmed apart three of the Old Olive sprigs and adhered them to the large basket that I fussy cut from the bicycle image. The flowers were attached using a combination of Multipurpose Liquid Glue and Stampin’ Dimensionals to create depth and movement. Finally, a Daffodil Delight butterfly fluttered around the arrangement to complete the garden-inspired scene.

For my coordinating project, I transformed one of the kit envelopes into a sweet gift card bag. I embellished it with two Old Olive sprigs, one of the floral clusters from the kit, and two butterflies. To finish it off, I punched two holes at the top and threaded the included twine through for a charming closure.

I love finding new ways to extend the value of my Paper Pumpkin kits, and this project is a wonderful reminder that with just a few coordinating products and a little imagination, one kit can become so much more than cards.

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today! I hope this project inspires you to look at your Paper Pumpkin kits in a new way and discover even more creative possibilities.
