The New Years Blog Hop card came together quickly once I figured out what Stampin’ Up products to use.
The first products I decided to use were the Biggest Wishes & More Wishes stamp sets. I did a Facebook Live a while back on mixing & mingling the 2 sets together to create a multitude of sentiments. I used the “HAPPY” from Biggest Wish and “NEW YEAR” from More Wishes to emboss in silver on black cardstock. It seemed kind of plain, so I searched through my supplies and ended up using the streamers window sheet from the Gold Celebration Specialty Designer Series Paper…but I flipped it over to use the silver side.
An idea came to me to make it a shaker card, so I trimmed out a frame using the largest & second largest Deckled Rectangle dies and adhered the window to the back of it. Foam Adhesive Strips were added around the back of the frame & over the window sheet. The outer edges were colored with my Basic Black Stampin’ Write marker to hide the stark white (in hindsight I should have colored the inside of the edge too). Loose Silver Sequins were placed in the middle of the “HAPPT NEW YEAR” piece and the window assembly was adhered over it. That assembly was adhered with Stampin’ Seal to the card front.
Since the card base is black, I needed to add white to the inside. Using the Deckled Rectangle largest die again, I cut 2 (1 for each inside panel). The middle section was embossed with gold balloons and silver streamers with black strings stamped from the Beautiful Balloons stamp set.
The embossed Deckled Rectangle was adhered to the middle of the card with Stampin’ Seal.
To round out the card, “I think it’s time for a CELEBRATION” from the Beautiful Balloons stamp set was stamped on the other Deckled Rectangle then adhered to the right inside of the card.
