Spring Blog Hop – Team Stamp It

Spring Blog Hop banner for Team Stamp it

I can’t wait for Spring to be in the air! A time for new beginnings & renewal. So this Blog Hop is an easy one to participate in.

Spring blog hop card front with clouds & raindrops

For some reason, when I was thinking about what to do for this month’s Blog Hop, the quote “April showers bring May flowers” kept popping into my head. So, I pulled our the Playing in the Rain & Garden Meadow stamp sets and started there.

The Meandering Meadows Designer Series Paper has beautiful flower scenes and the other side of most of each scene has great watercolors. I used one side for the sky on the cover, but it still needed another element. Pulled out my trusty Cloud punch and punched 3 clouds, 2 out of the DSP and 1 in Basic white cardstock for the sentiment.

To the white cloud I added a bit of Light Smoky Slate blend and went over it with the Color Lifter blender.

When I pulled out the raindrops stamp, I didn’t want a solid color. Using a stamping block and a sponge dauber along with Gorgeous Grape, Highland Heather & Fesh Fresia inks to create a multi-colored ink well to stamp the raindrops.

Wink of Stella was added to the raindrops and the bottom of the clouds to add a shine to them.

Using new silicone mat that comes with glass mat, I mixed 3 colors

The card base is 11″ x 4 1/4″ with a 6″ x 4 1/4″ (scored at 1/2″) and adhered to add an extra flap.

The inside of the card is a piece of the Meandering Meadows DSP and a sentiment stamp from the Garden Meadow stamp set.

My card is a bit plain, but I felt the sentimental meaning would make up for it.

Wow, just love your card! The best is that you used products that are older instead of using the new Bright Skies Bundle! Thank you for that!! Love how you colored your raindrops and the clouds, etc and love the Meandering Meadows DSP! I bought two packs of that gorgeous paper. Thanks so much for sharing and all you do for crafters!!!
