Halloween/Fall Blog Hop – Team Stamp It

Halloween/Fall Blog Hop banner

The Halloween/Fall Blog Hop with Team Stamp It is a chance to create a seasonal card. I do not have current Halloween stamps or dies, so I chose to take the Fall route.

I started with the pack of Splendid Autumn Designer Series Paper (DSP) and envisioned falling leaves, AHA! A shaker card with leaves!!

But all the leaf dies I owned that are current were too large. I ended up using the branch of leaves from the Autumn Expressions die set. I die cut scraps that coordinated with the DSP, then cut off the leaves. A few of the leaves have Wink of Stella on them to a little bling.

Added Wink of Stella to leave die cuts

I first cut the 6″ x 6″ DSP into 4 sections. I cut top to bottom at 4 ⅟₁₆” from the left. Then cut the larger section 5 ⁵⁄₁₆” from the top. The top right was cut to 3 ¾” and adhered to the middle of the card front a bit towards the top. The ⁱ⁵⁄₁₆” x 4 ⅟₁₆” piece was used to die cut 3 of the branches. The 2 ¼” x 2 ⅛” was adhered on the inside left of the card (see below).

I traced the one of the sections of the large frame die from Autumn Expressions on the back of the largest DSP section and Lemon Lolly cardstock. Then I cut the sections out (a bit bigger than the markings) with my snips. The 2 pieces were adhered together then a window sheet adhered to the back to cover the opening. Adhesive Foam Strips were placed around the opening on the back over the window sheet & dimensionals around the back to pop up the rest of the card front.

The cut leaves & branches were put in a pile in the middle of the sky DSP on the card front. Then the dimensional & strip backings were removed, and the DSP assembly was carefully placed over the card front.

Inside of Fall Shaker card saying "have a perfectly lovely day"

The outside sentiment was stamped on a Lemon Lolly scrap and the inside sentiment was stamped on a 5 ¼” x 4” piece of Basic White cardstock with Azure Afternoon ink. I added a few more of the cut branches with the Multipurpose glue under the sentiment on the front & the inside white cardstock.

The last piece of DSP was adhered to a scrap of Lemon Lolly cardstock & adhered with Stampin’ Seal on the inside left.

I am quite happy with the way my card turned out, hope you are too!
