Spring to me is all about flowers and sense of renewal. As I was glancing over all my stamp sets, I realized that I have rarely used the Fresh Cut Flowers (flowers) set so I decided to use that set (renewal).
I cut Blackberry Bliss cardstock to 11″ x 4¼”, scored at 5 ½”, and the Fresh Freesia plaid DSP from the Dandy Designs DSP pack to 5 ¼” x 4″. The next step I took was to stamp the largest image on Basic White cardstock with Memento. The flowers were colored in using Fresh Freesia, Blackberry Bliss, Evening Evergreen & Daffodil Delight Blend markers. After doing that I felt the plaid DSP was too stark, so I used my Blending Brush to add a touch of Blackberry Bliss ink to tone it down. This was then adhered to the front of the card using Stampin’ Seal.
The flower image was then cut using the largest from the Stitched So Sweetly dies and while I was at it, I cut a banner out using the second smallest die. The banner was stamped using the “happy birthday” in Blackberry Bliss and “GRANDMA” in Evening Evergreen. As I was assembling the various pieces, I decided to tone down the stark white by again using Blackberry Bliss & Blending Brushes. Both stamped die cuts were mounted on the front of the card using dimensionals. I completed the front of the card by tying a double bow with the black & white gingham ribbon colored with the dark Blackberry Bliss Blend marker and the Petal Pink Adhesive Backed Milky Dots.
The inside of the card is a 5 ¼” x 4” piece of white cardstock stamped with the smallest image from the Fresh Cut Flowers set in Memento. Then I used the same color Blend markers to color it in. The inside sentiments stamped are “from your” in Blackberry Bliss & “GRANDDAUGHTER” in Evening Evergreen. The piece was adhered to the inside with Stampin’ Seal.
