The Valentine’s Day Blog Hop is always a fun event to participate in. However, this year I did not purchase many Valentines Stampin’ Up! ® products.

My inspiration came from the Hugs for Love bundle. The punch outline stamp I used has very delicate features, so I wanted a more elegant card design. I tried just stamping it with ink, but felt it needed a little more.
Then I found the Marbled Elegance Specialty Designer Series Paper I forgot I ordered! This gave me the idea to gold heat emboss the punch outline and the inside sentiment. At first I thought I would use the Cherry Cobler Cardstock for my banner, but it didn’t have the WOW factor I was after, so I went with the Basic White Cardstock.
Now that I knew what my base was, I began to contemplate the layering. I love the elegance of the Cherry Cobbler Cardstock as the card base, then added Gold Foil to separate the base & DSP. Just plain cut cardstock seemed ordinary for this card so I decided to use the Perennial Postage Dies.
When I die cut the Gold Foil with the largest Perennial Postage die, I loved the piece that was leftover/scrap. So, I thought it would add a nice touch to die cut the Basic White Cardstock for the inside with the next size down die and inset it for the inside of the card.
I stamped that inside piece with VersaMark Ink but my hand slipped. So, I stamped a scrap piece & heat embossed “Happy Valetine’s Day” in gold to adhere over it. But it was plain looking… So, I die cut the next size up with Cherry Cobbler to add underneath. I am very happy with the result.
The card was complete by stamping the set of small hearts in Cherry Cobble to bring the inside together.
The cover of the card needed just a little extra touch, so I added a piece of Gold Open Weave Trim to the DSP before adhering everything together.
